Don't fear the 'Supermoon". There is no reason for anybody to dread the largest full moon of 2013, known as the "supermoon," a NASA scientist says.
On Sunday (June 23), the moon will reach perigee — the closest point to Earth in the rocky satellite's orbit around the planet. Although some people have suggested that the "supermoon" phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, cause natural disasters and wreak havoc on the tides, but there is scant evidence in support of those claims, NASA assures.
NASA planetary geologist Noah Petro said that while the tides might be slightly higher because of the moon's close approach, it won't make a noticeable difference for the average observer.
Certain prognosticators have moved the goalposts to within 1 or 2 weeks of a "supermoon" to suggest a causal relationship with specific natural disasters.
"Supermoons" that have "Coincided" with Natural Disasters
Devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Indonesia on Dec. 26, 2004 occurred about two weeks prior to a "supermoon" on Jan. 10, 2005.
"Supermoon" occurred on Jan. 30, 2010, about two weeks after the catastrophic earthquake that hit Haiti on Jan. 12, 2010.
Catastrophic earthquake and tsunami struck Japan on March 11, 2011 occurred about one week prior to the "supermoon" on March 19, 2011
"Supermoon" occurred on Feb. 21, 2011 just before the devastating earthquake that hit Christchurch, New Zealand on Feb. 22, 2011.

Massive eruption and shock wave at Popocatépetl Volcano - June 19, 2013 (Video)
Mexico’s active Popocatepetl volcano has registered a massive explosion spewing ash and incandescent rock almost 4 kilometers high.
Authorities have warned that winds could blow the ash cloud as far away as Mexico City. Inhabitants of villages up to 25 kilometers from Popocatepetl (colloquially known as ‘Don Popo’) rushed out of their houses when the massive explosion reverberated through their homes.
Esther Matinez, resident of Amecameca municipality, told Mexican publication La Jornada that the blast was like a rocket explosion. Around 4.5 million people live within a 50-kilometer radius of the active volcano, 650,000 of whom are considered to be at high risk.
According to authorities in the state of Puebla, where the second-tallest volcano in Mexico is located, the incandescent fragments released in the blast fell as far as 2 kilometers from the crater. Director of Puebla’s Civil Protection department Jesus Morales said that burning rocks sparked small fires around the volcano.
“There were clouds at the time of the eruption so it was possible to observe the large shock wave accompanied by a plume of ash and incandescent material,” Morales said.
Mexico's National Center for Prevention of Disasters (Cenapred) said the volcano had returned to its previous activity level, and that the volcanic alert level would remain at ‘yellow phase two.’ In addition, volcanic ash that was blown up to 4 kilometers into the air could be shifted by wind currents and then fall on Puebla, or even as far away as Mexico City, Cenapred warned.
Popocatepetl had previously been in phase two after breaking the record for the most volcanic emissions in one day – the 5,452 –meter-tall giant gave off 300 emissions in just one day in May.
In December 2000, the volcano registered one of its largest eruptions in recent history, prompting the mass evacuation of the surrounding countryside. The name Popocatepetl originates from the native Mexican Nahuatl language and means ‘smoking mountain.’ RT

Strange activities around the Sun - June 15, 2013
Solar activity will continue to increase as the solar cycle progresses toward solar maximum, expected in the 2013 time frame.
Despite 4 X-solar flares last month and a M5.9 solar flare on June 7, the sun shows little activity at the moment.
The sunspot number may be low, but the sun is far from blank. Amateur astronomers monitoring the sun report a large number of magnetic filaments snaking across the solar disk.
Weird filaments are popping up all over the solar surface and each one has a unique shape and length.
The longest one, in the sun's southern hemisphere stretches, more than 400,000 km from end to end.
If any of the filaments collapses, it could hit the stellar surface and explode, producing a Hyder flare.
The two videos show remarkable and strange activities and unknown objects around the sun which may be related to the increased number of magnetic filaments. The recordings show activities of the past two weeks.
NASA is now predicting that the Sun may generate unprecedented solar storms for a lengthy period in 2013.
Calm before the ‘solar’ storm?

Tornadic waterspout rips through the South of France - June 9, 2013
A natural phenomenon more common for America, a tornado, has hit the South of France shocking locals and holidaymakers on the Côte d'Azur, the Mediterranean coastline.
As thousands in Central Europe are struggling to cope with devastating floods which have already claimed the lives of at least 21 people, a tornado ripped through the French Riviera on Sunday morning.
The violently rotating column of air and water formed off the coast not far from popular resort towns of Cannes and Nice.
The phenomenon was observed from the Cagnes-sur-Mer commune in southeastern France, rising off to Villeneuve-Loubet and Antibes, reports Nicematin.com. RT

Pole Shift News: Magnetic north pole has moved 161 miles in 6 months - June 2013
Pole Shift News.
According to Youtube user MrMaverickstar the magnetic north pole has moved 161 miles in 6 months only, this puts its arrival in Siberia in less that 2 years, and it is when it arrives there that it will have migrated 40 degrees across the northern hemisphere.
At this point the poles will shift at high speed over the equator until it reaches 40 degrees south.
Meanwhile, scientists say earth’s magnetic field is weakening and could all but disappear in as little as 500 years as a precursor to flipping upside down. It has happened before – the geological record suggests the magnetic field has reversed every 250,000 years, meaning that, with the last event 800,000 years ago, another would seem to be overdue. “Magnetic north has migrated more than 1,500 kilometers over the past century,” said Conall Mac Niocaill, an earth scientist at Oxford University. “In the past 150 years, the strength of the magnetic field has lessened by 10 percent, which could indicate a reversal is on the cards.. The helical model - our Galaxy is a vortex
Our Galaxy is a Vortex.
Notes on the video below:
The Milky Way
1. The Milky Way itself travels through space at appr. 600 km/s.
2. The image used for texturing the Milky Way is NOT a picture of the 3. Milky Way. There are no pictures of the outside of the Milky Way. 4. There could either be a black hole or a central sun in the center of the Milky Way. I went with the texture image and made it shine.
5. A complete revolution around the galaxy takes 226 million years.
6. Do not confuse the Galactic Plane with the Galactic Equator: the Sun never "crosses" the Galactic Equator because the Sun is always on the Galactic Equator, by definition.
Precession Cycle
1. One precession cycle takes 25,920 years.
2. Since one revolution takes 226 mln years, this would mean that there are appr. 8692 precessional cycles in one revolution. In this animation there are only 60.
Scale and Distance
1. The Sun is 109 times bigger than the Earth. If this animation was to scale, the planets would be invisible. 2. Our Solar System should be a gazillion times smaller compared to the Milky Way. If this animation was to scale, you could not see the Solar System, the Sun or any of the planets.
3. The software used to create this animation is unable to work with extreme sizes and distances. djsadhu.com

Deadly close range: Video shows Storm Chasers caught in powerful Oklahoma Tornado - June 2013
A dramatic video of a tornado near Oklahoma City on Friday shows a group of storm chasers racing to escape the twister.
In the video, Oklahoma University meteorology student Brandon Sullivan and fellow storm chaser Brett Wright speed down a rural road dangerously close to one of the 17 tornadoes reported in the Midwest on May 31, 2013.
Brett and Brandon got extremely close to a violent tornadic circulation that produced multiple tornadoes in very close range.
The team was hit by inflow jet winds into the tornado and their vehicle received damage as a barn was completely destroyed. A hay bale came barreling across the road and was tossed into their car.
The team is very fortunate to live to chase another day.
Incredible storm chaser traffic prevented an escape from the tornado like normal..
There have been fatalities with this tornado. The team's thoughts go out to those affected! This was the same tornado that killed fellow storm chasers.

Approaching 2.7 km wide asteroid 1998 QE2 has its own 600 meters wide Moon - May 30, 2013
Approaching asteroid 1998 QE2 has a moon.
Researchers found it in a sequence of radar images obtained by the 70-meter Deep Space Network antenna at Goldstone, Calif., on the evening of May 29th (May 30th Universal Time) when the asteroid was about 6 million kilometers from Earth.
First radar images of asteroid 1998 QE2 were obtained when the asteroid was about 3.75 million miles (6 million kilometers) from Earth. The radar collage covers a little bit more than two hours. Image credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/GSSR.
These findings show that 1998 QE2 is a binary asteroid. In the near-Earth population, about 16 percent of asteroids that are about 200 meters or larger are binary or triple systems Also revealed in the radar imagery of 1998 QE2 are several dark surface features that suggest large concavities.
The closest approach of the asteroid occurs on May 31 at 1:59 p.m. Pacific (4:59 p.m. Eastern / 20:59 UTC), when the asteroid will get no closer than about 5.8 million kilometers, or about 15 times the distance between Earth and the Moon. This is the closest approach the asteroid will make to Earth for at least the next two centuries.
Asteroid 1998 QE2 was discovered on Aug. 19, 1998, by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) program near Socorro, N.M. Via sciencenasa.gov

Weird expanding halo of light over Hawaii - May 25, 2013
On May 25, 2013, around 03:35 local time, a huge expanding halo of light was seen over Hawaii. This footage is from the Canada France Hawaii Telescope all-sky camera. In the time-lapse video, one frame equals one minute of real time. The halo is indicated.
The source of the Halo is maybe the testing of a missile, due to a fuel dump from a Minuteman III missile, which had launched from Vandenberg AFB just minutes before. This has happened at least once before, and was also shortly after a missile launch. The third stage of the missile opens up ports on the side that dump the fuel, which then rapidly expands in the near vacuum of the upper atmosphere, causing the bubble of light.
Another possibility is that military or astronomers testing a laser. Astronomers use lasers to simulate a fake star, this "laser guide star" is need to adjust the adaptive optics.
Or the strange halo may be caused by something unknown?

EARTHQUAKES 8.3M Sea of Okhotsk, Russia, 5.7M California, 6.3M and 7.4M Tonga, today May 24, 2013
A massive 8.3Mearthquake struck the Sea of Okhotsk, Russia on May 24, 2013. The M8.3 quake is on top of the 6.3M 7.4M earthquake which struck Tonga (west Pacific)and the 5.7M which struck Greenville, California.
A large Earthquake (and very deep - 373.9 miles) . Location is the Kuril Islands vicinity -- a long volcanic chain located along the Northwest Pacific ring of fire. This area has been under extreme stress / heavy movement for the past several days, hundreds of earthquakes at the same location.
Kuril Islands volcanic chain. Multiple 6.0M's over the past few days leading into this.
Also, worthy to note the OTHER large movement today in Tonga (west Pacific) a 7.4M and 6.5M. Finally, the west coast USA movement.. 5.7M *5.9 revised*, followed by a large swarm in North California.
Then.. a 4.2M in Utah.. and a 4.7M in southern California (wiped off the USGS database).
Earthquakes Central Arkansas:
An unusual number of earthquakes have been reported in Central Arkansas since Monday. More than a dozen have been reported across Morrilton, Strawberry, and Choctaw. A 3.5 earthquake hit the area. The U.S. Geological Survey says there have been 16 earthquakes, which is a high number. This is definitely more active than what we have seen in a long time."
Since this happened, people are advised to have a disaster preparedness kit ready.

The Asteroid-Comet Danger and Planetary Defense - A View from Russia
Schiller Institute Conference
Frankfurt, Germany
April 13-14, 2013
Kirill Benediktov writer and member of the editorial board of the website Terra America talks about the asteroid-comet danger and planetary defense.
Some quotes out of his speech:
Total number of not yet discovered objects with a diameter of greater than 1 kilometer; Russian scientists estimate that there are about 40 undiscovered, or 20% of the total undiscovered potential very dangerous large space bodies.
The total number of potentially life threatening objects to the Earth is 200,000 – 300,000 and only 2% have been identified by astronomers so far.
The most projects in space defense are passive. The only case of intervention on a space object was the deep impact experiment of bombarding nuclear on the Temple One comet.
Using ballistic missiles with a 1,5 tons payload to a danger approaching asteroid would be enough to destroy an asteroid up to several hundreds of meters in diameter.
Please listen to the interesting speech of Kirill Benediktov:

Raw Footage of F4 Tornado Oklahoma intercepted from within a half mile - Radar pulsed HAARP rings? - May 22, 2013
The devastating, mile-wide tornado touched down near Oklahoma City on Monday, killing dozens of people -- including children -- decimating homes, businesses and a pair of elementary schools in the suburb of Moore.
Weather officials estimated the strength of the storm to be an F4 or F5 on the Fujita Scale, the highest rating a tornado can achieve.
The National Weather Service said the tornado's preliminary classification was an F4, with winds up to 200 mph.
The devastated area was an estimated 30 square miles.
The tornadoes came a day after powerful storms ripped through the center of the country, spawning at least a dozen tornadoes, causing extensive damage from Georgia to Minnesota.
The following video shows the Oklahoma tornado from the ground. The author of the video intercepted the tornado from within a half mile by South Moore High School.
And an unimaginable time-lapse footage of the tornado that struck the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area on May 20th, 2013.
According to Dutchsinse: “Radio frequency modification of the weather, RADAR pulses (what we call radar pulsed "HAARP rings" and "Scalar Squares") have played a role -- areas pulsed yesterday, being hit today.”
Read more about Radar pulses / Haarp rings
The F4 tornado is being called one of the worst to hit the entire country, ever.

NASA code 8 for NEO Asteroid 2013 KB, discovered on May 16, 2013
Asteroid 2013 KB was discovered just several days ago by NASA. NASA has put the code on 8, (0 is OK - 9 is very uncertain).
The closest approach '.008 AU' to Earth is on May 22, 2013.
Nevertheless, .008 AU is still about three times the distance of the Moon - Earth, or about 744,000 miles, but it is remarkable that Asteroid 2013 KB sits around the same position for almost 1 day before moving on.
Listen to the information and explanation from OutrDemnDarkness in the video below:
Besides, there are two additional asteroids coming in along with 2013 KB:
1. 2013 KTI at 3.2 lunar distances with closest approach on May 21st, condition code 5
2. 2013 KS1 at 4.8 lunar distances, closest approach on May 22nd, condition code 8.
With four fireballs spotted over U.S. the last days, a Mexico fireball on May 18, 2013, a meteorite near miss in New Zealand, another meteorite strikes Mahangu field in Namibia and the flyby of the 1.7 miles wide Asteroid 1998 QE2 on may 31, 2013 the number of meteors/meteorites that fall to earth continues to increase...

The Sun Rips off a Comet's tail - May 15, 2013
Comet Lemmon (C/2012 F6), which is receding from the sun not far beyond the orbit of Earth, has just experienced a "disconnection event."
A cloud of dusty plasma is propagating down the comet's tail, shown here in a photo taken by Paul Mortfield on May 15th:
Disconnection events can be caused by CME impacts. A famous example is that of Comet Encke in 2007.
Comet Lemmon, however, is not on the same side of the sun as active sunspot AR1748. It's hard to see how the recent X-flares can be responsible. Nevertheless, solar activity is high and comets are very sensitive to stormy space weather.
Comet Encke
On April 20, 2007, the comet Encke had just dipped inside the orbit of Mercury, perilously close to the sun, when a solar eruption struck and literally tore the comet's tail off.
NASA's STEREO-A probe recorded a fantastic movie of the collision.
The eruption that hit Encke was a CME or "coronal mass ejection.
CMEs are fast-moving and massive, packing billions of tons of solar gas and magnetism into billowing clouds traveling a million-plus miles per hour.
Actually, it is a little surprising that a CME succeeded in ripping off a comet's tail. For all their mass and power, CMEs are spread over a large volume of space.
The impact of a CME exerts little more than a few nanoPascals of mechanical pressure.
The ripping action must have been something else.
"We believe the explanation is 'magnetic reconnection,'" says Vourlidas of the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C. Magnetic fields around the comet bumped into oppositely directed magnetic fields in the CME. Suddenly, these fields linked together--they "reconnected"--releasing a burst of energy that tore off the comet's tail.
Comet ISON
I wonder what would happen if an earth directed CME rips off comet ISON's tail.

Dark 1.7 miles long Asteroid 1998 QE2 to fly by Earth on May 31, 2013
It's 1.7 miles long. Its surface is covered in a sticky black substance similar to the gunk at the bottom of a barbecue. If it impacted Earth it would probably result in global extinction. Good thing it is just making a flyby.
Asteroid 1998 QE2 will make its closest pass to Earth on May 31 at 1:59 p.m. PDT.X The space rock's name is not an homage to England's Queen Elizabeth II, or to the famous 12-deck ocean liner that was retired from service in 2008. It's just the moniker assigned by the Minor Planet Center in Cambridge, Mass., which names each new found asteroid according to an established alphanumeric scheme that lays out when it was discovered.
Scientists are not sure where this unusually large space rock, which was discovered 15 years ago, originated from. But the mysterious sooty substance on its surface could indicate it may be the result of a comet that flew too close to the sun, said Amy Mainzer, who tracks near-Earth objects at Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Cañada Flintridge. It might also have leaked out of the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, she said.
We will know more after the asteroid zips closer to Earth and scientists using the Deep Space Network antenna in Goldstone, Calif., and the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico can get a better look at it. Astronomers at both observatories plan to track it closely from May 30 to June 9, according to a JPL release.
At its closest approach the asteroid will still be 3.6 million miles from our planet (about 15 times the distance between the Earth and the moon), but it will be close enough for these powerful radar antennas to see features as small as 12 feet across.
"With radar we can transform an object from a point of light into a small world with its own characteristics," Lance Benner, JPL's principal investigator for Goldstone radar observations, said in a statement.
NASA leads the global effort to identify potentially dangerous asteroids. Our planet has been pummeled by space rocks throughout its 4.5-billion-year history, and more strikes are in our future.
The planet got a dramatic reminder of this reality this past Feb. 15. On that day, a 55-foot (17 m) object exploded without warning over Russia, just hours before the 130-foot asteroid 2012 DA14 gave Earth a close shave, missing our planet by just 17,200 miles (27,000 km).
There is no chance that asteroid 1998 QE2 could collide with Earth this go-around, and its next close approach won't be until 2119.
Still, Mainzer said the size of the asteroid, and its potential for mass destruction, should remind us that there are some scary things flying around in space.
"This is a really big asteroid, similar in size to the one that killed off the dinosaurs, and it's getting very close to us," she said. "Fortunately we've been tracking its orbit very carefully so we know with great certainty it won't hit us.
"We don't need to panic, but we do need to pay attention," she said.

Chemtrail Pilots Cause Face to Face Near Mid-Air Collisions
Chemtrail Pilots Cause Face to Face Near Mid-Air Collisions.
This is why the FAA is supposed to alert local Air Traffic Control when Chemtrail jets will be flying their skies. So that commercial air traffic will be diverted.
These Chemtrail jets were flying at commercial air flight level with NO TRANSPONDERS! Not only do they NOT alert Air Traffic Control, the planes don't even show up on radar!
CHEMTRAILS
For those who don't know about the chemtrail phenomenon and what they are spraying:
It is important to distinguish between contrails and chemtrails. Contrails are streaks of condensed water vapor created in the air by jet airplanes at high altitudes. Contrails can exist in two forms: water droplet and ice crystal. Contrails typically become visible about a wingspans distance behind an aircraft flying at high altitude. The trail dissipates quite quickly, usually within a minute or so.
Governments spraying toxic chemicals into the skies all over the world and it's called "geoengineering".
Chemtrails are visible directly behind an aircraft, with little or no gap between the aircraft and the start of the trail. Chemtrails are said to vary from contrails in their length of persistence. Chemtrails do not dissipate quickly; they tend to form into mushy clouds which can block sunlight. Some people are reporting what they describe to be unusual activity in the sky, including jets leaving trails at low altitudes, spray lines creating X's, S's and parallel lines, lines that slowly spread to create a canopy of haze, and reports of unusual smells, tastes, and many of the illnesses you see today are a direct cause of whats happening in the sky.
There are currently three main hypothesis for the purpose of chemical spraying in the skies: weather modification, population control, and testing of biological agents on the general population.
What are they spraying?
Toxic Chemicals and Metals in Chemtrails:
Aluminum Oxide Particles - Arsenic - Bacilli and Molds - Barium Salts - Barium Titanates - Cadmium - Calcium - Chromium - Desiccated Human Red Blood Cells - Ethylene Dibromide - Enterobacter Cloacal - Enterobacteriaceae - Human White Blood Cells-A - Lead - Lithium Salts and Chemtrails - Mercury - Methyl Aluminum - Mold Spores - Mycoplasma - Nano-Aluminum-Coated Fiberglass - Nitrogen Trifluoride - Nickel - Polymer Fibers - Pseudomonas Aeruginosa - Pseudomonas Florescens - Radio Active Cesium - Radio Active Thorium - Selenium - Serratia Marcscens - Sharp Titanium Shards - Silver - Streptomyces - Stronthium - Sub-Micron Particles - Sulfur Dioxide - Unidentified Bacteria - Uranium - Yellow Fungal Mycotoxins
Toxic Chemical List from U. S. Navy:
Aluminum Coated Fiberglass Particles (CHAFF)- Acenaphthene - Aromatic Hydrobarbons - Barium Chromate - Benzene - Cadium - Chlorides - Chromium - Copper - Flouranthene - Hydrogen Cyanide - Iron - Lead - Manganese - Naphitalene - Potassium Perchlorate - Prchlorate - Rocket Fuels - Toluene - Jet Fuel Emissions - Xylene - Zinc
The health effects of bombarding the skies with sulphur dioxide alone are enough to raise serious questions about whether such programs should even be allowed to proceed.
The following health effects are linked with exposure to sulphur:
- Neurological effects and behavioral changes
- Disturbance of blood circulation
- Heart damage
- Effects on eyes and eyesight
- Reproductive failure
- Damage to immune systems
- Stomach and gastrointestinal disorder
- Damage to liver and kidney functions
- Hearing defects
- Disturbance of the hormonal metabolism
- Dermatological effects
- Suffocation and lung embolism

Massive and destructive Tornado rips across Texas - May 15, 2013
A tornado slammed into a North Texas lakefront town of Granbury, demolishing homes and injuring an undetermined number of people.
Lt. Kathy Jividen of the Hood County Sheriff's office told CBS News that there are "most likely fatalities," but no information on numbers yet. She also confirms numerous injures, "some critical", and "at least three tornadoes have touched down." The area of damage is "extensive."
She also said crews are currently going home to home in the Granbury area searching for trapped bodies.X
The tornado was part of a system of severe thunderstorms that spawned several tornadoes across North Texas, dropping large hail in some areas.
The extent of the damage and injuries was not immediately clear. However, police reported the hardest hit area was the Rancho Brazos subdivision and adjoining areas along Lake Granbury.
Another tornado hit the small town of Millsap, about 40 miles west of Fort Worth. Parker County Judge Mark Kelley said roof damage was reported to several houses and a barn was destroyed, but no injuries were reported.
Hail up to the size of grapefruit pelted the area around Mineral Wells on Wednesday evening. A police dispatcher reported only minor damage.
Also a tornado slammed into Hood County, Texas Wednesday, killing at least two people and injuring 100 others.
Kathy Jividen, a spokeswoman for the Hood County, Texas, sheriff's office said there were "multiple fatalities" in the wake of the storm.
